New Visa Application Centre Opening in Tonga

Immigration New Zealand is establishing a new Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Nuku'alofa, Tonga, set to launch on 14 September 2026. The facility, managed by VFS Global, will let residents submit paper visa applications and supporting documents in person, without needing to travel to New Zealand.

The VAC will operate from the General Post Office, Ground Floor, Salote and Taufa'ahau Road, in the capital, with extended hours and appointment booking available through the VFS Global website.

From 14 September 2026, all Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) visa applications must be submitted through this centre. Immigration New Zealand staff will be on hand to assist applicants during the initial weeks of operation.

A general VAC fee of TOP 86 applies, with a reduced rate of TOP 43 for RSE applications, both on top of standard visa fees. Passport scanning services are also available for an additional fee.

The new centre reflects New Zealand's commitment to its Pacific relationships and improves accessibility to visa services for Tongan residents. Immigration New Zealand notes that VACs provide administrative support services only and cannot offer immigration guidance or affect visa outcomes.
